Last September of 2024 we attended the 51st Congress of the International Academy of Ceramics (AIC) organised by the National Association of Ceramic Cities and Towns of Portugal (AptCVC) in collaboration with the AIC. The organisation was supported by the municipalities of the cities of Alcobaça and Caldas de Rainha and this 51st Congress welcomed more than 300 participants coming from a wide range of countries who were able to enjoy the large number of activities programmed.
This was a special congress for the representatives of our country because Oriol Calvo Vergés, until then representative of the AIC Council for Southern Europe and current director of the Museu del Càntir de Argentona, was appointed as the new president of the International Academy of Ceramics.
Eulàlia Oliver, as a member of the International Academy of Ceramics, participated in the exhibition ‘Azulejos’ ('Tiles') by members of the AIC, with the piece you can see in the image. Also shown is the installation with all the pieces presented by the different members of the AIC and a detail of the installation.
